STOPPING UP OF HIGHWAY
HIGHWAYS ACT 1980 – SECTION 116
STOPPING UP OF FOOTWAY BETWEEN THE HAWTHORNS AND LINDEN GROVE, GREAT AYTON
TAKE NOTICE that North Yorkshire County Council, being the highway authority for the County of North Yorkshire, intends to apply to the Magistrates’ Court for the Petty Sessional Division of Northallerton and Richmond sitting at The Court House, Racecourse Lane, Northallerton, North Yorkshire DL7 8QZ at 10.00 am on 18 May 2009, for an Order under Section 116 of the Highways Act 1980 to authorise the stopping up of an area of footway between The Hawthorns and Linden Grove, Great Ayton in the District of Hambleton, on the ground that it is unnecessary. The effect of the Order will be that the land in question ceases to be part of the highway.
A plan showing the proposed area of footway to be stopped up has been deposited at Room 17D, County Hall, Northallerton and at Great Ayton Library and Information Centre, 105b High Street, Great Ayton, Middlesbrough TS9 6NB and may be inspected free of charge during normal office hours.
