THE BEXLEY (BEXLEYHEATH TOWN CENTRE)(PARKING PLACES)(AMENDMENT NO. 26) TRAFFIC ORDER 2009

  • 1 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Bexley propose to make the above-mentioned Orders under sections 6 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by section 8 of and Part 1 of Schedule 5 to the Local Government Act 1985.
  • 2 The general effect of the Bexley (Parking Places) (Disabled Persons) (Amendment No. 9) Traffic Order 2009 would be to:-
    • a designated parking places in which vehicles authorised by the Order may be left for a period during the permitted hours without charge in the roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice;
    • b provide that the parking place will operate at any time throughout the week;
    • c specify, in respect of the parking places in the roads in the Schedule, that disabled persons’ vehicles displaying in the relevant position a disabled person’s badge (commonly referred to as “the Blue Badge”) issued by any local authority under the provisions of the Disabled Persons (Badges for Motor Vehicles) Regulations 1982, may be left therein;
    • d provide that certain vehicles may wait in the parking places in certain circumstances, e.g. to allow persons to board or alight (maximum 2 minutes), to load or unload (maximum 20 minutes), etc.
    • e The existing parking place; 8 Wordsworth Road, Welling, is to be revoked.
  • 3 The general effect of the Bexley (Bexleyheath Town Centre)(Parking Places) (Amendment No. 26)Traffic Order 2009 would be to amend the parking bays in Hawthorn Road and Russell Close, Bexleyheath, respectively, so that in part they be changed to a disabled bay:-
  • 4 Copies of the Orders, the Bexley (Parking Places) (Disabled Persons) (No.1) Traffic Order 2007, (and the Orders which have amended that Order); the Bexley (Bexleyheath Town Centre) (Parking Places) (No. 1)Traffic Order 1994, (and the Orders which have amended that Order) the Council’s statement of reasons for proposing to make the Orders, and of a map which indicates the length of road to which the Orders relate can be inspected during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive in the Contact Centre, Civic Offices, Bexleyheath, Kent, DA6 7LB.
  • 5 Further information may be obtained by telephoning Vinny Rey, telephone number 0208-308-7935.
  • 6 Persons desiring to question the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or of any relevant regulations made thereunder has not been compiled with in relation to the Order may, within six weeks of the day on which the Orders were made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
