HIGHWAYS ACT 1980 SECTION 116
THE STOPPING UP AND DIVERSION OF BYWAY IN THE PARISH OF SLALEY IN THE COUNTY OF NORTHUMBERLAND
TAKE NOTICE that the Northumberland County Council intend to apply to the Tynedale Magistrates’ Court under S.116 Highways Act 1980 for the stopping up and diversion of highways described in the Schedule to this Notice on the grounds that they are unnecessary or more commodious (as the case may be)
The application is to be heard on Wednesday 20 May at 11.00am in the Magistrates Court, Hexham, Northumberland [For review only if contested]
The effect of the Order is shown in the Schedule. This is shown on the plan which may be inspected free of charge at County Hall, Morpeth on working days between the hours of 0930-1630.

DESCRIPTION OF HIGHWAY TO BE STOPPED UP
Those portions of the U8081 and U8080 unclassified county roads (currently recorded as the Parish of Slaley Byway Open to All Traffic No.44) being outside the 5 metre wide length running from the C265 road, at a point 35 metres east of Sandy Braes in a south-easterly direction, in part through the grounds of Slaley Hall, for a distance of 2630 metres to join the C268 road at a point 160 metres north of Espershields.
