NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Secretary of State for Transport has made an Order on the A1 Trunk Road, in the District of Harrogate, to enable carriageway widening and construction works to be carried out in safety.

The Order will come into effect on Saturday 7 March 2009 and will remain in force until the works are completed, an estimated period of 2 years and 7 months.

The effect of the Order will be to close to all traffic, at times during the works, over Friday and Saturday nights between 7pm and 9am, and Sunday to Thursday nights between 8pm and 6am, the A1 northbound and southbound carriageways between the exit and entry slip roads at the A61 Baldersby Interchange, during which times traffic will be diverted around the closures using the exit and entry slip roads at Baldersby Interchange.

Traffic signs will indicate the extent of the prohibitions (which will not apply to vehicles being used in connection with the said works or for winter maintenance purposes).
