THE HARROW (FREE PARKING PLACES) (DISABLED PERSONS) (AMENDMENT NO. 1) TRAFFIC ORDER 2009

  • 1 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on 2nd February 2009 the London Borough of Harrow made the above mentioned order under Sections 6, 7, 124 and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Local Government Act 1985, and all other enabling powers.
  • 2 The general effect of the order is to amend the Harrow (Free Parking Places) (Disabled Persons) Traffic Order 2009 so as to introduce Free Parking Places for Disabled Persons lawfully displaying Disabled Persons’ Badges, so that:
    • a in the spaces listed in the streets specified in Schedule 1 to this notice only motor vehicles displaying a disabled persons badge may wait;
    • b the spaces listed in Schedule 2 were deleted;
    • c the space listed in Schedule 3 was altered.
  • 3 The prohibitions referred to in paragraph 2 above will not apply in respect of anything done at the direction of a police constable in uniform, a traffic warden or with the permission of a parking attendant or in certain circumstances which can be provided on request.
  • 4 The order, which will come into operation on 9th February 2009 and other documents giving more detailed particulars are available for inspection between 9am and 5pm, Mondays to Fridays at the One Stop Shop at the address below, until 6 weeks from the date on which the order was made.
  • 5 If any person wishes to question the validity of the order or of its provisions on the grounds that it or they are not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that any requirement of the Act or of any instrument made under the Act has not been complied with, that person may, within six weeks of the date on which the order is made, apply for the purpose to the High Court.
