TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING (GENERAL PERMITTED DEVELOPMENT) ORDER 1995

OLD CATTON CONSERVATION AREA

Notice of a Direction made under Article 4(2) of the Town and Country Planning (General Permitted Development) Order 1995 restricting permitted development.

Notice is hereby given that Broadland District Council on 14 January 2009 made a Direction under Article 4(2) of the Town and Country Planning (General Permitted Development) Order 1995 which came into effect on 14 January 2009.

This Direction shall remain in force until six months from the date of this Direction and shall then expire unless it has been approved by the said Council before that date.

The Direction applies to the following development which would front a highway, waterway or open space:

  • 1 The enlargement, improvement or other alteration of a dwellinghouse (including the size, shape, material and design of windows, doors and other openings, porches and porticos, timberwork and barge boarding, brick and stonework, stucco, rainwater goods and extensions);
  • 2 The alteration of a dwellinghouse roof (including tiles and slates, ridge tiles, finials, windows and rooflights, leadwork and eaves);
  • 3 The erection or construction of a porch outside an external door or a dwelling house;
  • 4 The erection, alteration or removal of a chimney on a dwelling house;
  • 5 The painting of the exterior of any part of a dwelling house or any building or enclosure within the curtilage of a dwelling house (including the painting over of unpainted brick or stonework but excluding the painting of doors, windows and other joinery items).

It affects the following properties:

1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 & 12 Grange Close, Old Catton

The effect of the Direction is that permission granted by Article 3 of the General Permitted Development Order 1995, as amended 2008, shall not apply to such development and such development shall not be carried out within the area unless planning permission is granted by the Council.

A copy of the Direction and the map defining the area to which it relates is available for public inspection at Broadland District Council, Thorpe Lodge, Yarmouth Road, Norwich NR7 0DU (opening hours 9.00 am to 5.00 pm).
