THE TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1990 (AS AMENDED)
PLANNING (LISTED BUILDINGS AND CONSERVATION AREAS) ACT 1990
EXTENSION TO RUISLIP VILLAGE CONSERVATION AREA
Notice is hereby given under the Planning (Listed Buildings and Conservation Areas) Act section 69 that the London Borough of Hillingdon has designated an extension to the Ruislip Village Conservation Area. The suburban area to the west of Ruislip village, described in the schedule to this notice, is an area of special architectural or historic interest, the character or appearance of which it is desirable to preserve or enhance and it has therefore been included within the existing conservation area. The effects of inclusion within the Conservation Area are as follows:
- 1 Conservation Area Consent would now be required for the demolition of any unlisted buildings in the area;
- 2 Planning applications for development which would in the opinion of the Local Planning Authority affect the character and appearance of the Conservation Area will be given publicity and representations received as a result of that publicity must be taken into account in determining the applications;
- 3 There is a requirement to give six weeks notice (‘Section 211 notice’) to the Council for proposals to prune, lop, uproot, or fell a tree within a Conservation Area. It is an offence to wilfully damage or destroy any tree in the area without the consent of the Local Planning Authority;
- 4 Existing Lawful Development Certificates may be superseded by the requirements of Conservation Area designation; and
- 5 It is the duty of the Local Planning Authority from time to time to formulate and publish proposals for the preservation and enhancement of the area.
Designation will also affect certain Permitted Development Rights for householders.
A map of the designated area may be inspected at Planning Reception, third floor, Civic Centre, High Street, Uxbridge, UB8 1UW (between the hours of 9:00am and 5:00pm Monday to Friday).
If further advice is required, please contact Hillingdon Council’s department of Planning and Community Services, Planning Specialist Team on 01895 250230.
