THE A46 TRUNK ROAD (CHARMY DOWN, NEAR BATH) (LAYBY CLOSURE) ORDER 200_.
THE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR TRANSPORT gives notice that he proposes to make an order under section 1(1), 2(1) and (2) and 4(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 on the A46 Trunk Road in Bath and North East Somerset.
The effect of the Order would be to prohibit any vehicle from waiting in the layby adjacent to the western side of the A46 Trunk Road situated 640 metres north west of Blacksmith Lane, Charmy Down at any time.
COPIES of the draft Order, a plan illustrating the proposal and a statement of the Secretary of State’s reasons for proposing to make the Order, may be inspected free of charge during opening hours at Bath Central Library, 19-23 The Podium, Bath, BA1 5AN and Bathford Parish Council, c/o Bathford Post Office, High Street, Bathford, BA1 7SN, from Thursday 23 October 2008 to Thursday 14 November 2008 or within 3 weeks from that date of first publication of this notice. They may also be obtained by application to the Highways Agency, Network Operations, Zone 2/06K, Temple Quay House, 2 The Square, Temple Quay, Bristol BS1 6HA, or e-mail toswbs@highways.gsi.gov.uk, quoting reference HA 041/029/0278.
ANY PERSON may to object to the making of this Order not later than Thursday 14 November 2008 or within 21 days from the date of first publication of this notice if that period expires later, by notice to the Secretary of State at the offices of the Highways Agency, Network Operations, Zone 2/06K, Temple Quay House, 2 The Square, Temple Quay, Bristol BS1 6HA, quoting reference HA 041/029/0278 and stating the grounds of objection. In the preparation of an objection and the statement of grounds of objection it should be borne in mind that the substance of any objection or representation may be communicated to other people who may be affected by it.
