NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Secretary of State for Transport has on the 6 October 2008 made an Order under Section 84(1) (a) and (2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 on the A556 Trunk Road in the District of Macclesfield in the County of Cheshire, which comes into force on Friday 17 October 2008.

The effect of the Order is to make permanent the 50 miles per hour speed limit on the A556 Trunk Road from its junction with Bowdon Roundabout to a point 325 metres north east of the centreline of the junction with Millington Hall Lane, a total distance of 2056 metres.

A copy of the Order, a plan illustrating the effect of the Order, and a statement explaining the Secretary of State’s reasons for making this Order may be inspected, during normal opening hours at Knutsford Library, Toft Road, Knutsford, Cheshire, WA16 0PG; or may be obtained by application from the office of the Director, Traffic Operations (North), The Highways Agency, Room 908, City Tower, Manchester, M1 4BE.
