THE CROYDON (SOUTH NORWOOD) (PARKING PLACES) (NO. 1) ORDER 1993 (AMENDMENT NO. 1) TRAFFIC ORDER 2008

  • 1 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Croydon Council on 6 October 2008 made the above-mentioned Traffic Orders under the relevant sections of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Traffic Management Act 2004 and all other enabling powers.
  • 2 The general effect of the Orders would be:-
    • a to convert existing ‘shared use/pay and display’ parking bays into free parking places for use by goods vehicles in:-
      • i Grosvenor Road, the north-east side, from a point 6.00 metres south-east of the north-western flank wall of No. 67 High Street, South Norwood south-eastward for a distance of 11.00 metres;
      • ii St Dunstan’s Road, the south-west side, from a point 11.00 metres north-west of the north-western kerb-line of High Street, South Norwood north-westward for a distance of 10.00 metres;
      ii St Dunstan’s Road, the south-west side, from a point 11.00 metres north-west of the north-western kerb-line of High Street, South Norwood north-westward for a distance of 10.00 metres;
    • b to introduce a goods vehicle parking place in Station Road, South Norwood from a point 4.00 metres south-east of the north-western flank wall of Nos. 1 to 7 Station Road south-eastward for a distance of 10.00 metres;
    • c to provide that the parking places would be in operation between the hours of 9am and 5pm on Mondays to Saturdays inclusive;
    • d to specify that the use of the parking places would be restricted to goods vehicles only for the purpose of loading or unloading goods or delivering or collecting goods from premises adjacent to the parking places;
    • e to restrict to 30 minutes any one period of waiting in the parking places and to prohibit the return to the same parking places of the same vehicle for a period of one hour;
    • f to provide that the parking places may be suspended when necessary to facilitate the carrying out of certain functions such as building or street works, furniture removals, funerals, etc.
  • 3 Copies of the Orders, which will come into operation on 13 October 2008 (and of any Orders which have previously amended those Orders) can be inspected during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive, until the end of six weeks from the date on which the Orders were made at the Enquiry Counter, “One Stop” Facility, Taberner House, Park Lane, Croydon, Surrey.
  • 4 Copies of the Orders may be obtained from Parking Services, Community Services Department, 9th Floor, South West Side, Taberner House, Park Lane, Croydon, CR9 1EN.
  • 5 Any person desiring to question the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or of any relevant regulations made there under have not been complied with in relation to the Orders may, within six weeks of the date on which the Orders were made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
