NEW ROADS AND STREET WORKS ACT 1991 (“THE ACT”) SECTION 58

NOTICE OF RESTRICTION ON STREET WORKS

• 1 Notice is hereby given by the Council of the London Borough of Barnet (the highway authority and the street authority) that it intends to carry out substantial road works and that the restriction imposed by this notice will apply.
• 2 The streets in which these works are intended to take place; the type of works, details of the estimated area; length and location of work and commencement dates proposed are as per the schedule to this notice. (The schedule is subject to regular review and any revisions will be published and/or circulated as soon as practicable thereafter to all statutory undertakers and other interested parties. In keeping with the normal practice all residents, businesses, traders etc likely to be affected by the work will be notified by circular letters in advance of the start of the scheme.)
• 3 Once the Council’s works relating to any one of the above streets have been completed, no statutory power to break up or open that street shall be exercisable during the period of 12 months following completion of those works except:-
  • a in the case of emergency works or other works excepted under Section 58 (5) of the Act;
