THE BRENT (WAITING AND LOADING RESTRICTION) (AMENDMENT NO. ) ORDER 200

  • 1 NOTICE IS GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Brent propose to make the above-mentioned Order under sections 6 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by section 8 of and Part 1 of Schedule 5 to the Local Government Act 1985.
  • 2 The general effect of the Order would be further to amend the Brent (Waiting and Loading Restriction) Order 1979, so that:-
    • a waiting by vehicles (otherwise than for the purpose of delivering or collecting goods or loading or unloading a vehicle) would be prohibited at any time in the lengths of streets specified in Schedule 1 to this Notice;
    • b waiting by vehicles (otherwise than for the purpose of delivering or collecting goods or loading or unloading a vehicle) would be prohibited between 8.00 a.m. and 6.30 p.m. Mondays to Fridays in the lengths of streets specified in Schedule 2 to this Notice;
    • c waiting by vehicles for the purpose of delivering or collecting goods or loading or unloading a vehicle for a period of more than 20 minutes in the same place would be prohibited between 11.00 a.m. and 6.30 p.m. throughout the week in the lengths of streets specified in the Schedule 1 to this Notice and between 8.00 a.m. and 6.30 p.m. on Mondays to Fridays in the lengths of street specified in Schedule 2 to this Notice;
    • d the sale or offer for sale of goods from a vehicle would be prohibited (except on Sundays in the lengths of streets specified in Schedule 1) unless there is in force a valid licence issued by the Brent Borough Council or the goods are immediately taken into or delivered at premises adjacent to the vehicle from which the sale is effected;
    • e the use of any vehicle or of any animal or the wearing of fancy dress or other costume, wholly or mainly for the purpose of advertising would be prohibited;
    • f waiting restrictions ‘at any time’ in Holmstall Avenue, the north-west side, from a point 15.00 metres north-east of Nos. 3 and 5 Holmstall Avenue north-eastward for 7.00 metres would be revoked;
    • g waiting and loading restrictions between 7.30 a.m. and 6.30 p.m. on Mondays to Saturdays inclusive in Holmstall Avenue, the north-west side, from a point 15.00 metres south-west of The Hyde (Edgware Road) to a point 22.00 metres north-east of Nos. 3 and 5 Holmstall Avenue would be revoked.
  • 3 The prohibitions referred to in sub-paragraph 2(a) to 2(c) above would not apply in respect of anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or in certain circumstances, e.g., the picking up or setting down of passengers; the carrying out of statutory powers or duties; the taking in of petrol, etc., from roadside petrol stations; to licensed street traders, etc. The usual exemption relating to vehicles displaying a disabled person’s “Blue Badge” would apply.
  • 4 A copy of the proposed Order, of maps of the relevant areas, of the Brent (Waiting and Loading Restriction) Order 1979 (and of the Orders which have amended that Order) and of the Council’s statement of reasons for proposing to make the Orders can be inspected during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive until the expiration of a period of 21 days from the date on which this Notice is published at:-
    • a The One Stop Local Office, Brent Town Hall, Forty Lane, Wembley, Middx, HA9 9HX; and
    • b The One Stop Local Office, Brent House, 349-357 High Road, Wembley, Middx, HA9 6BZ.
  • 5 Further information may be obtained by telephoning the Transportation Service Unit, telephone number 020 8937 5452.
  • 6 Persons desiring to make representations or to object to the proposed Order should send a statement in writing of their representations or objections, and the grounds thereof, to The Director of Transportation, Transportation Service Unit, 2nd Floor (east) Brent House, 349-357 High Road, Wembley, Middx, HA9 6BZ, quoting the reference TO/02/125/EAM, before the afore-mentioned date.

ALPERTON LANE, the south-east side, from a point 5.00 metres south-west of Nos. 19 and 21 Alperton Lane to a point 4.00 metres south-west of Nos. 23 and 25 Alperton Lane.

BRIDGE ROAD, STONEBRIDGE, the south-west side, from a point 2.00 metres south-east of Nos. 97/99 and 101/103 Bridge Road to a point 5.50 metres south-east of Nos. 105/107 and 109/111 Bridge Road.

the south-east side, from a point 22.00 metres north-east of the party wall of Nos. 3 and 5 Holmstall Avenue north-eastward for 12.00 metres.

NORTHCHURCH ROAD, the eastern arm

  • a from Tokyngton Avenue north-westward for 10.00 metres;
  • b the south-west side, from 6.80 metres north-west of the north-western wall of No. 273 Tokyngton Avenue to the south-eastern kerb-line of Northchurch Road, the northern arm.

NORTHCHURCH ROAD, the northern arm, the south-east side

  • a from the south-western kerb-line of Northchurch Road, the eastern arm to Nos. 273 and 275 Tokyngton Avenue;
