TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1990

THE SECRETARY OF STATE hereby gives notice that she proposes to make an Order under Section 247 of the above Act to authorise the stopping up of a length of the cul-de-sac Arcot Drive and the whole of the other network of highways and footpaths bounded to the north by Hotch Pudding Place, to the east by Dunblane Crescent and the unnamed footpath which lies 75 metres north of the junction of Arcot Drive with Dunblane Crescent, to the south by Burwell Avenue and to the west by Thornley Road at West Denton, in the City of Newcastle upon Tyne.

IF THE ORDER IS MADE, the stopping up will be authorised only in order to enable the development described in the Schedule to this notice to be carried out in accordance with outline planning permission granted to Nomad Homes by Newcastle City Council on 15 March 2006 under reference 2005/2422/01/OUT and planning permission (reserved matters approval) granted to Isos Housing Ltd by Newcastle City Council on 2 April 2008 under reference 2005/2422/03/RES.

COPIES OF THE DRAFT ORDER AND RELEVANT PLAN MAY BE INSPECTED at all reasonable hours during 28 days commencing on 1 October 2008 at Denton Burn Library, West Road, Denton Burn, Newcastle upon Tyne NE15 7QQ and may be obtained free of charge from the Secretary of State at the offices of the Department for Transport (quoting reference NATTRAN/NE/S247/23) at the address stated below.

ANY PERSON MAY OBJECT to the making of the proposed order within the period of 28 days commencing on 1 October 2008 by notice to the Secretary of State, quoting the above reference, addressed to the National Transport Casework Team, Government Office for the North East, Citygate, Gallowgate, Newcastle upon Tyne NE1 4WH.

In preparing an objection it should be borne in mind that the substance of it may be imparted to other persons who may be affected by it and that those persons may wish to communicate with the objector about it.

Outline Planning Permission, 2005/2422/01/OUT, is granted for erection of residential development, as amended by letters, plan and associated documents received 17, 23 and 27 February and 2 March 2006 at land between Burwell Avenue, Dunblane Crescent, Hotch Pudding Place and Thornley Road, West Denton, Newcastle upon Tyne, Tyne and Wear and planning permission, 2005/2422/03/RES, for details of layout, scale, appearance, access and landscaping for 64 dwellings in respect of the aforementioned Outline Planning Permission.
