HEATHROW AIRPORT LIMITED (TERMINAL 5 - LANDSIDE ROAD NETWORK) EXPERIMENTAL TRAFFIC (NO 3) ORDER 2008

  • 1 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Heathrow Airport Limited on the 5th September 2008 made the above-mentioned Order under sections 6, 9, 84 and part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) (hereinafter referred to as “the Act”) and of all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act, and having effect by virtue of the Aerodrome Traffic (Heathrow) Order 1976 and Sections 1, 2 and 65 of the Airports Act 1986.
  • 2 The general effect of the Order will be to revoke Heathrow Airport Limited (Terminal 5 - Landside Raod Network) Experimental Traffic (No 2) Order 2008 and to amend the Heathrow Airport Ltd (Terminal 5 landside road network) experimental traffic order 2008 so that:
    • a Suspend the restricted route for buses and taxis only along Washington Road to allow other vehicles access.
    • b The first lay-by on the east and west side of Washington Road is designated for BAA authorised taxi for actively dropping off passengers and actively unloading passenger’s personal luggage.
    • c Prohibit vehicles stopping except for actively dropping off passengers and actively unloading passenger’s personal luggage along the forecourt lay-bys on the east and west side only of Washington Road.
    • d Prohibiting vehicles stopping except for pre-booked taxis from the fifth lay-by on the west side of Washington Road.
    • e Prohibiting vehicles stopping except for BAA licensed valet parking from part of the forth lay-by from the west side of Washington Road.
    • f Prohibit vehicles stopping except for buses actively dropping off passengers and actively unloading passenger’s personal luggage along the forecourt lay-bys on Wayfarer Road.
  • 3 The Order shall have effect from the 15th September 2008.
  • 4 A copy of the Order may be inspected during normal office hours, Monday to Friday at First and Last Impressions, D’Albiac House, Heathrow Airport, Middlesex, TW6 2RQ.
  • 5 Any person desiring to question the validity of any of the Orders or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or of any relevant regulations made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to any of the Orders may, within six weeks of the date on which the Orders were made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
  • 6 If the provisions of the Order continue in operation for a period not less than six months, Heathrow Airport Ltd will consider in due course whether the provisions of the Order should be reproduced and continued in force indefinitely by means of an Order under Section 6 of the Act. Persons desiring to object to the making of the Order under Section 6 of the Act for the purpose of reproduction and continuation in force may, within the afore-mentioned period of six months send a statement in writing of their objections, and the grounds thereof, to Alpha Parking Ltd, Cromwell House, Fulwood Place, High Holborn, London WC1V 6HZ, before the afore-mentioned date.
