(TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF ONE-WAY TRAFFIC, PAY AND DISPLAY PARKING PLACES AND PROHIBITION OF WAITING)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF WAITING, LOADING/UNLOADING, DRIVING AND PEDESTRIAN TRAFFIC)

“WORKS” ORDER, 2008

Notice is hereby given that Liverpool City Council intends to make the above-mentioned “Works” Order under Section 14 of The Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by Section 1 and Schedule 1 of The Road Traffic [Temporary Restrictions] Act 1991, in respect of a certain highway in the Liverpool 3 area:-

To suspend The Parking Place and Controlled Parking Zone (Liverpool) Order, 1995, in-so-far as it relates to areas of highway designated as parking places with ticket issuing machines and/or requiring the display of permits and/or vouchers (Part1 - Inner Zone) and no waiting 8.00 a.m. up to and including 6.00 p.m. from Mondays up to and including Sundays (Inner Zone) on East Street .

To suspend The City Council of Liverpool (Central Area) (One Way Traffic Etc.) Order, 1966, in-so-far as it relates to One-Way Traffic in East Street (St Paul’s Square to Rigby Street).

To prohibit any vehicle and pedestrian from proceeding along East Street from its junction with Rigby Street to its junction with Prussia Street. Pedestrian access shall be maintained to the car park on the northeast side of East Street when operations dictate that it is safe to do so.

To prohibit any vehicle from waiting, or loading and unloading, at any time on East Street from its junction with Rigby Street to its junction with Old Leeds Street.

The alternative route for vehicular and pedestrian traffic for the duration of these works will be indicated on site with temporary signage.

The “Works” Order shall come into operation on the 1st October 2008 for a period of at least eighteen months but not exceeding five years in duration. Liverpool City Council will revoke the “Works” Order in full when it is deemed no longer necessary. It is required to enable the contractor to safely construct a new development and to provide site access and servicing.

The contractor has been made aware that all signage in respect to the Temporary Suspension of One-Way Traffic, Pay and Display Parking Places and Prohibition of Waiting, Temporary Prohibition of Waiting, Loading/Unloading, Driving and Pedestrian Traffic and the alternative routes for vehicular traffic must be erected prior to, maintained throughout and removed immediately after the works covered by this Temporary Traffic Regulation “Works” Order have been completed.

Furthermore, the contractor will make the necessary arrangements for the formal notification of the Temporary Traffic Regulation “Works” Order to the affected properties within the area.
