THE BEXLEY (PARKING PLACES) (DISABLED PERSONS) (AMENDMENT NO. 7) TRAFFIC ORDER 2008

  • 1 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Bexley on 8th September 2008 made the above-mentioned Order under sections 6 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by section 8 of and Part 1 of Schedule 5 to the Local Government Act 1985.
  • 2 The general effect of the Bexley (Parking Places) (Disabled Persons) (Amendment No. 7) Traffic Order 2008 would be to:-
    • a designated parking places in which vehicles authorised by the Order may be left for a period during the permitted hours without charge in the roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice;
    • b provide that the parking place will operate at any time throughout the week;
    • c specify, in respect of the parking places in the roads in the Schedule, that disabled persons’ vehicles displaying in the relevant position a disabled person’s badge (commonly referred to as “the Blue Badge”) issued by any local authority under the provisions of the Disabled Persons (Badges for Motor Vehicles) Regulations 1982, may be left therein;
    • d provide that certain vehicles may wait in the parking places in certain circumstances, e.g. to allow persons to board or alight (maximum 2 minutes), to load or unload (maximum 20 minutes), etc.
    • e The existing parking places; 58 Alexander Road, Erith; 8, Etfield Grove, Sidcup; 11 Frinton Road, Sidcup; 149 Lower Road, Belvedere; 70 Lyme Road, Welling; 71 Oakley Drive, New Eltham; 27 Palmeira Road, Bexleyheath and 102 Park Mead, Sidcup are to be revoked.
  • 3 A copy of the Order, the Bexley (Parking Places) (Disabled Persons) (No.1) Traffic Order 2007, (and the Orders which have amended that Order); the Council’s statement of reasons for making the Order, and of a map which indicates the length of road to which the Order relates can be inspected during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive in the Contact Centre, Civic Offices, Bexleyheath, Kent, DA6 7LB.

  • 5 Copies of the Order may be purchased from the Traffic and Road Safety Group, London Borough of Bexley, Wyncham House, 2nd Floor, Longlands Road, Sidcup, Kent, DA15 7JH.
  • 6 Persons desiring to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or of any relevant regulations made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Order may, within six weeks of the day on which the Order was made, make application for the purpose of the High Court.
