THE CITY OF WESTMINSTER (WAITING AND LOADING RESTRICTION) (AMENDMENT NO. 349) ORDER 2008

  • 1 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Westminster City Council on 3rd September 2008 made the above Order under sections 6 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Local Government Act 1985.
  • 2 The general effect of the Order, in connection with street improvements to Chinatown, will be to:
    • a introduce a “Restricted Zone” in Lisle Street between its junctions with Newport Place/Little Newport Street and Leicester Street; throughout this length waiting restrictions will apply “at any time” and loading restrictions will apply between the hours of 12 noon and 7am throughout the week.
    • b correct minor anomalies between on-street provisions and existing Traffic Orders.
  • 3 These provisions differ from those proposed on 30th August 2007 which were for prohibit vehicles from entering Lisle Street between its junctions with Newport Place/Little Newport Street and Leicester Street at all times except for the purposes of loading and unloading by goods vehicles between 7am and 12 noon only.
  • 4 The Order, which will come into force on 5th September 2008, and other documents giving more detailed particulars of the Order are available for inspection between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Mondays to Fridays inclusive at West One, 59 Buckingham Gate, London SW1E 6AJ, until 15th October 2008.
  • 5 Any person desiring to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or of any relevant regulations made thereunder have not been complied with in relation to the Order may, within six weeks from the date on which the Order was made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
