MARSHGATE LANE, BETWEEN CITY MILL RIVER AND WATERWORKS RIVER, STRATFORD, LONDON E15

The Council of the London Borough of Newham hereby gives notice that it proposes to make an Order under section 247 of the above Act to authorise the stopping-up of a length of highway known as Marshgate Lane, between City Mill River and Waterworks River, Stratford, London E15.

If the Order is made, the stopping-up will be authorised in order to enable the development described in the Schedule to this notice to be carried out in accordance with the planning permission granted under Part III of the Act by the Olympic Delivery Authority on 28 September 2007, under Ref 07/90011/FUMODA.

Copies of the draft Order and relevant plan may be inspected at all reasonable hours during 28 days commencing on 9 July 2008, at the offices of the Council at Newham Town Hall, Barking Road, East Ham, London E6 2RP and also at Stratford Library, 3 The Grove, Stratford, London E15 1EL and may be obtained, free of charge, from the Council’s Head of Legal Services at Newham Town Hall by quoting Ref LE/02/IGF/94311.

Any person may object to the making of the proposed Order within the period of 28 days commencing on 9 July 2008, by notice to the Head of Legal Services, London Borough of Newham, Newham Town Hall, Barking Road, East Ham, London E6 2RP quoting Ref LE/02/IGF/94311 and marking communications “ for the attention of Ian Foote ”.

In preparing an objection it should be borne in mind that the substance of it may be imparted to other persons who may be affected by it and that those persons may wish to communicate with the objector about it.

The Schedule

PDZ2: Bulk earthworks to formation levels (including reinforced soil slopes and batters); associated remediation of land, retention and repair of the river walls of the Old River Lea, the City Mill River and the Waterworks River; construction of a utilities trench and the laying of service conduits; the laying of surface water conduits and a foul water tunnel; diversion of existing services and service protection works; construction of an Olympic Loop Road (including the laying down of any hard-standing for car parking and pick up and set-down areas.
