THE A65 TRUNK ROAD (HELLIFIELD) (40 MILES PER HOUR SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 200*
The Secretary of State for Transport hereby gives notice that she proposes to make an Order under Sections 84(1)(a) and (2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 on the A65 Trunk Road in the District of Craven in the County of North Yorkshire.
The Order, if made as proposed, will impose a 40mph speed limit on the A65 Trunk Road at Hellifield, from a point 631 metres east of the centre line of the junction with the road to Airton to a point 19 metres west of the centre line of the junction with the road to Airton, a total distance of 650 metres.
The speed limit will not apply to vehicles being used for emergency purposes by the police, fire and rescue or ambulance services or anything done at the direction of, or with the permission of, a police officer in uniform.
A copy of the Order, together with the relevant plan and a statement of reasons for proposing to make the Order, have been deposited at Skipton Library and Information Centre, High Street, Skipton, Craven, BD23 1JX and Hellifield Post Office, 3 Craven Terrace, Main Street, Hellifield, Skipton, Craven, BD23 4EP where they may be inspected during normal opening hours, or may be seen at or obtained by application to the Director, The Highways Agency, Traffic Operations, Room 908, City Tower, Piccadilly Plaza, Manchester, M1 4BE, quoting reference HA 28/2/165 Part 1.
Any person wishing to object to the Secretary of State’s proposal to make this Order should send a written statement of their objection and the grounds thereof to the Director’s address given above, quoting reference HA 28/2/165 Part 1, to be received no later than Saturday 22 March 2008.
