NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR CONSENT FOR THE PURPOSE OF SECTION 88
Notice is hereby given, in accordance with Schedule 10 to the Water Resources Act 1991, that an application has been made to the Environment Agency by Tarmac Southern Limited for a consent to discharge up to 80,000 cubic metres per day of trade effluent into an unnamed field ditch draining into the River Little Ouse at National Grid Reference TL 78600 86900.
The consent application is for a variation to consent PRCNF/17791 that permits the discharge of trade effluent from Lignacite Quarry, off High Street, Brandon, Norfolk, IP27 0AX.
The current discharge is limited to 6,000 cubic metres per day, and consists of water derived from the dewatering of mineral excavations and from process water derived from sand and gravel processing. The application is to increase the discharge volume to 80,000 cubic metres per day, and to modify the effluent type, by removing the mineral processing effluent from the discharge.
Any person who wishes to make representations about the application should do so in writing to the Regulatory Water Quality Team, Environment Agency, Bromholme Lane, Brampton, Huntingdon, Cambs, PE28 4NE not later than 5th September 2007, quoting reference PRCNF / 18125.
