THE LEWISHAM (LOCAL ROAD) (BUS PRIORITY) (AMENDMENT NO. -) TRAFFIC ORDER 2007

1.  NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lewisham Council propose to make these two orders under the provisions of section 6 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. 2. The general nature and effect of the two orders will be to— (a) Extend the existing length of northbound one-way working in Lewisham High Street north of Barnstaple Lane, now to run from the southern junction with Molesworth Street to its existing end point north of Barnstaple Lane; and (b) Extend the parallel southbound contra-flow bus lane on the east side of the same length of road from its existing start point north of Barnstaple Lane to the southern junction with Molesworth Street, linking to the A21 southbound bus lane running southward from there. 3. The bus lane will remain for the use of buses, dial-a-ride vehicles, licensed taxis and pedal cycles. The standard exemptions in the orders being amended will continue to apply including those regarding ambulance, fire brigade and police vehicles in an emergency and anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform. 4. Documents giving more detailed particulars of the two orders and measures can be inspected between the hours of 10am. and 4pm. on Mondays to Fridays at the offices of Lewisham Highways Development, Wearside Service Centre, Wearside Road, London, SE13 (telephone 020-8314 2265). 5. Any objection or other representation relating to either order must be made in writing and any objection must specify the grounds on which it is made. Any such objection or representation must be sent, quoting reference ‘LewCentrReview’, to Lewisham Highways Development, Wearside Service Centre, Wearside Road, London, SE13 7EZ, to arrive not later than 21 days from the date of publication of this notice.
