NOTICE OF SUBSTANTIAL WORKS FOR ROAD PURPOSES (SCOTLAND)

AYLESBURY PUBLIC TRANSPORT HUB - CONTRACTS 2 & 3

CONTRACT 2

1. Three months advance notice is hereby given that the Buckinghamshire County Council intends to carry out substantial road works.

2. The roads in which this work will take place are:

A41 Exchange Street
High Street (unclassified)
Railway Street (unclassified)
Britannia Street (unclassified)
Anchor Lane (unclassified)
Cambridge Street (unclassified)
A413 Upper Hundreds Way
A413 New Street
A4156 White Hill (Oxford Road),

3. Work is expected to affect the carriageway, footways and verges at the following points:

Location	Extent of Works
A41 Exchange Street	Its entire length from its junction with the A413 Walton Street north-eastwards to its junction with the A41 High Street.
High Street	From its junction with the A41 Exchange Street westwards to its junction with Britannia Street.
Railway Street	From its junction with High Street northwards for a distance of 50 metres.
Britannia Street	Its entire length from its junction with High Street northwards to its junction with Anchor Lane.
Anchor Lane	Its entire length from its junction with Britannia Street north-westwards to its junction with Cambridge Street.
Cambridge Street	From a point 20m south-west of its junction with Anchor Lane north-eastwards for a distance of 150 metres.
A413 Upper Hundreds Way	From the centre of the roundabout at its junction with Cambridge Street south-eastwards for a distance of 70 metres.
A413 New Street	Its entire length from its junction with Cambridge Street north-westwards to its junction with A Buckingham Road.
A4156 White Hill (Oxford Road)	From its junction with Nelson Terrace south-westwards for a distance of 80 metres.

4. Work is expected to commence on Tuesday 24th April 2007 and is expected to last for 20 weeks.

5. The works notified will include the following:

Location	Brief Description of Works
A41 Exchange Street	Replacement of paved central reserve with carriageway construction, resurfacing of the existing carriageway, local carriageway widening to accommodate construction of a Puffin crossing and a Toucan crossing. Replacement street lighting and signage.
High Street	Footway widening - reduced carriageway width. Creation of loading bays and parking bays through localised footway widening. Resurfacing of the existing carriageway. Replacement street lighting and signage
Railway Street	Provision of disabled parking spaces.
Britannia Street	Narrowing of carriageway through construction of paved area, provision of disabled parking spaces.
Anchor Lane	Provision of disabled parking spaces, modification to the layout of its junction with Cambridge Street.
Cambridge Street	Modification of its junction with Anchor Lane, modification of its junction with New Street and Upper Hundreds Way.A413 Upper Hundreds Way
A413 Upper Hundreds Way	Modification of its approach to the junction with Cambridge Street.
A413 New Street	Widening of the carriageway along its south-west side from Cambridge Place to Buckingham Road. Narrowing of the carriageway along its south-west side Cambridge Place south-westwards for a distance of 40m. Modification of its junction with Cambridge Street. Construction of one Puffin crossing and two Toucan crossings. Construction of a segregated footway/cycleway along its south-west side from Cambridge Place to Buckingham Road.
A4156 White Hill (Oxford Road)	Construction of a parking bay for two buses.

6. Subject to the exemptions in the Act and Regulations under it, no street works or in Scotland road works, may be executed for a period of 12 months from completion of the works described in paragraph 5 without the consent of the said Highway Authority, which shall not be unreasonably withheld.

CONTRACT 3

1. Three months advance notice is hereby given that the Buckinghamshire County Council intends to carry out substantial road works.

2. The roads in which this work will take place are:

Great Western Street (unclassified)
Market Square (unclassified)
Walton Street (unclassified)

3. Work is expected to affect the carriageway, footways and verges at the following points:

Location	Extent of Works
Great Western Street	Its entire length from its junction with the A41 Friarage Road north-eastwards to its junction with Walton Street.
Market Square	From its junction with the Walton Street north-eastwards to its junction with.
Walton Street	Its entire length from its junction with Great Western Street south-eastwards to its junction with A41 Exchange Street.

4. Work is expected to commence on:

Phase 1 Monday 12th March 2007 and is expected to last for 38 weeks;
Phase 2 Monday 4th February 2008 and is expected to last for 17 weeks.

5. The works notified will include the following:

Location	Brief Description of Works
Great Western Street	Modifications to the carriageway and footway layout. Resurfacing of carriageway and footway in high quality materials. Replacement street lighting and signage. Refurbishment of the adjacent Aylesbury Bus Station.
Market Square	Modifications to the carriageway and footway layout. Resurfacing of carriageway and footway in high quality materials. Replacement street lighting and signage. Temporary parking for taxis.
Walton Street	Temporary parking for Bus services. Modifications to the carriageway and footway layout. Construction of raised zebra crossing. Replacement signage.

6. Subject to the exemptions in the Act and Regulations under it, no street works or in Scotland road works, may be executed for a period of 12 months from completion of the works described in paragraph 5 without the consent of the said Highway Authority, which shall not be unreasonably withheld.
