THE M4 MOTORWAY (JUNCTION 30 (PENTWYN) SLIP ROADS) (TRUNKING) SCHEME 2006

Notice is hereby given that the Minister for Enterprise, Innovation and Networks, acting on behalf of the National Assembly for Wales, has made a Scheme under sections 16 and 19 of the Highways Act 1980, which will provide that the lengths of special road specified in the Schedule to this notice are to become trunk roads from the date the Scheme comes into force. A copy of the Scheme and of the relevant plan may be inspected, free of charge, at all reasonable hours from 21 December 2006 to 1 February 2007 at the following venues: Orders Branch, Transport Planning and Administration Division, Transport Wales, Welsh Assembly Government, Cathays Park, Cardiff; The Regulatory Services Department, City and County of Cardiff, Rosh 108, City Hall, Cardiff; Newport City Council, Civic Centre, Newport; Rhiwbina Library, Pen-y-Dre, Rhiwbina, Cardiff; Llanishen Library, 31 Kimberley Terrace, Llanishen, Cardiff; The Cabin Library, Old School, Llwyn-y-Pia Road, Lisvane, Cardiff; St Mellon Library, 30 Crickhowell Road, St Mellons, Cardiff; Pontprennau Post Office (within Asda Stores), Dering Road, Cardiff Gate Retail Park, Cardiff; and Castleton Garage, Newport Road, Castleton, Cardiff; Copies of the Scheme, the title of which is “The M4 Motorway (Junction 30 (Pentwyn) Slip Roads) (Trunking) Scheme 2006”, (S.I. 2006 No. 3383 W. 309)) can be purchased from booksellers or direct from The Stationery Office Ltd. Any person aggrieved by the Scheme and desiring to question the validity thereof, or of any provision contained therein, on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Highways Act 1980 or on the ground that any requirement of that Act, or of regulations made thereunder, has not been complied with in relation to the Scheme may, within 6 weeks from the date of publication of this notice, apply to the High Court for the suspension or quashing of the Scheme or of any provision contained therein. M D Burnell, Transport Planning and Administration Division Schedule Lengths of special road to become a trunk road The lengths of special road to become a trunk road are: (i) the eastbound off-slip road which extends from its junction with the main eastbound carriageway of the motorway at Junction 30 to its junction with the A4232 at Junction 30, a distance of 270 metres and given the reference 1 on the deposited plan; (ii) the eastbound on-slip road which extends from its junction with the A4232 at Junction 30 to its junction with main eastbound carriageway of the motorway at Junction 30, a distance of 370 metres and given the reference 2 on the deposited plan; (iii) the westbound off-slip road which extends from its junction with the main westbound carriageway of the motorway at Junction 30 to its junction with the A4232 at Junction 30, a distance of 380 metres and given the reference 3 on the deposited plan; (iv) the westbound on-slip road which extends from its junction with the A4232 at Junction 30 to its junction with the main westbound carriageway of the motorway at Junction 30, a distance of 270 metres and given the reference 4 on the deposited plan.
