PUBLIC NOTIFICATION OF AN APPLICATION MADE UNDER REGULATION 10 OF THE POLLUTION PREVENTION AND CONTROL (ENGLAND AND WALES) REGULATIONS 2000
INTEGRATED POLLUTION PREVENTION AND CONTROL
Notice is hereby given that Yorkshire Water Services Ltd has applied to the Environment Agency for an Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control (IPPC) permit to operate an installation involving the dewatering of municipal sewage sludge for disposal off-site. The installation is located at South Elmsall WWTW, Chapel Lane, South Elmsall, Pontefract, West Yorkshire WF9 2SW, in the borough/district of Wakefield in the county of West Yorkshire. The application contains the information required by the regulations, including a description of any foreseeable significant effects of emissions from the installation on the environment. This information is held in registers at the following locations: IPPC Public Register, Environment Agency, Phoenix House, Global Avenue, Leeds LS11 8PG; and IPPC Public Register, City of Wakefield MDC, Newton Bar, Leeds Road, Wakefield WF1 2TX. Members of the public can inspect these registers, free of charge, at the above stated addresses during normal office hours (9.00 am to 5.00 pm Monday to Friday). In addition, members of the public who wish to obtain a copy of the relevant information contained in the registers can do so upon the payment of a reasonable charge to cover the costs of copying. Any objections or representations to the above IPPC application should be made in writing to the Environment Agency at the address below, within 28 days from the date of this public notice: Strategic Permitting Group, Environment Agency, Trentside Offices, Scarrington Road, West Bridgford, Nottingham NG2 5FA. Any such objections or representations will be entered into a public register, unless the person making them requests in writing that they should not be so placed. If there is such a request, the register will only include a statement that there has been a request. This application is subject to the Public Participation Directive. This means the Environment Agency will consult on its draft decision before finally determining this application.
