THE CITY OF WESTMINSTER (STOPPING UP OF HIGHWAYS) (NO 9) ORDER 2006
NORMANDIE HOTEL, 163 - 173 KNIGHTSBRIDGE, LONDON, SW7 1DW

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Westminster on 20th December 2006 made an Order under section 247 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 (the “Act”), as amended by the Greater London Authority Act 1999, entitled the City of Westminster (Stopping Up of Highways) (No. 9) Order 2006. 1. The Order authorises the stopping up of three parts of the highway (footway) immediately outside the Normandie Hotel, Nos. 163 - 171 Knightsbridge to enable development to be carried out in accordance with planning permissions granted by the Council on 31st May 2006 under reference PT/05/07387/FULL under part III of the above Act. The areas proposed to be stopped up comprise: (a) an irregular shaped area of footway from the boundary wall of Nos. 169 and 171 Knightsbridge westward for a distance of approximately 11.5 metres, with a maximum width of 0.6 metres from the existing building line; (b) an irregular shaped area of footway from the boundary wall of Nos. 169 and 171 Knightsbridge eastward for a distance of approximately 17.5 metres, with a maximum width of 1.5 metres from the existing building line; and (c) a roughly triangular area of footway of approximately 0.8 metres2 at the north-eastern corner of the northern and north-eastern flank walls of the Normandie Hotel, Nos. 163 - 169 Knightsbridge. The term “stopping up” means that these areas of the above highway will permanently cease to be public highway. 2. The Order, and other documents giving more detailed particulars of the Order are available for inspection between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Monday to Fridays inclusive at West One, 59 Buckingham Gate, London, SW1E 6AJ, until 2nd February 2007. 3. Any person aggrieved by the Order and desiring to question the validity thereof, or of any provision contained therein, on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the above Act or that any requirement of that Act or of any regulation made thereunder have not been complied with in relation to the Order, may, within 6 weeks of the date of the publication of this notice, apply to the High Court for the suspension or quashing of the Order or of any provisions contained therein.
