ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
THE A503 GLA ROAD (LONDON BOROUGH OF CAMDEN) BANNED TURN TRAFFIC ORDER 2006
1. Transport for London, hereby gives notice that on 8 November 2006, it made the above-named Order under section 6 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. 2. The A503 GLA Road (Camden) Banned Turn Experiment Traffic Order 2005 (the “experimental Order”) was made under section 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, and came into force on 7 July 2005. 3. The general nature and effect of the experimental Orders was to: (a) ban all vehicles in Murray Street from turning right into Camden Road; (b) revoke the banned left turn from Camden Park Road into Camden Road. 4. Transport for London has carefully considered whether or not the provisions of the experimental Order should be continued indefinitely and has decided that they should be so continued. 5. Therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred on Local Authorities by section 6 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, and in accordance with regulation 23 of the Local Authorities’ Traffic Orders (Procedure) (England and Wales) Regulations 1996, Transport for London has made The A503 GLA Road (London Borough of Camden) Banned Turn Traffic Order 2006 (“the permanent Order”). That Order will come into force on 17 November 2006, and the effect of that Order will be to continue in force indefinitely the provisions of the experimental Order. 6. The roads affected by the permanent Order are, A503 Camden Road, Camden Park Road and Murray Street. 7. A copy of the permanent Order, a map indicating the location and effect of the Order and a copy of the experimental Order can be inspected during normal office hours, at the offices of: Transport for London, Streets TRO Team (SPST/RND), 84 Eccleston Square, London SW1V 1PX; and London Borough of Camden, Engineering & Traffic Service, 4th Floor, Town Hall, Argyle Street, London WC1H 8EQ. 8. Any person wishing to question the validity of the permanent Order or of any of its provisions on the grounds that they are not within the relevant powers conferred by the Act, or that any requirement of the Act has not been complied with, that person may, within 6 weeks from the date on which the Order is made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
