THE CITY OF WESTMINSTER (STOPPING UP OF HIGHWAYS) (NO. 7) ORDER 2006

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Westminster on 15th November 2006 made an Order under section 247 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 (the “Act”), as amended by the Greater London Authority Act 1999, entitled the City of Westminster (Stopping Up of Highways) (No. 7) Order 2006. 2. The Order authorises the stopping up two parts of the highway of Savile Row at the western and southern extremities of No. 23 Savile Row to enable development to be carried out in accordance with planning permissions granted by the Council on 22nd July 2004 under reference 03/07024/FULL and on 14th June 2006 under reference 05/01085/FULL under part III of the above Act. The areas to be stopped up comprise: (a) a quadrilateral area of highway at the western corner of the south-western and north-western flank walls of No. 23 Savile Row having a length and width of approximately 2.25 metres by 2 metres; and (b) a rectangular area of highway at the southern corner of the south-western and south-eastern flank walls of No. 23 Savile Row having a length and width of approximately 3 metres by 1.9 metres. The term “stopping up” means that these areas of the above highways will permanently cease to be public highway. 3. The Order, and other documents giving more detailed particulars of the Order are available for inspection between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Monday to Fridays inclusive at West One, 59 Buckingham Gate, London, SW1E 6AJ, until 12th January 2007. 4. Any person aggrieved by the Order and desiring to question the validity thereof, or of any provision contained therein, on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the above Act or that any requirement of that Act or of any regulation made thereunder have not been complied with in relation to the Order, may, within 6 weeks of the date of the publication of this notice, apply to the High Court for the suspension or quashing of the Order or of any provisions contained therein.
