Greenwich Council


1. Notice is hereby given that Greenwich Council, hereinafter called the Council, propose to make the above-mentioned Order under sections 6 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.
2. The general effect of the Order would be to amend the Greenwich (Prohibition of Stopping on Cab Ranks) Order 1994 so as to impose no stopping restrictions which would prohibit all vehicles other than Hackney Carriages from stopping or remaining at rest on any Cab Rank in Vincent Road during the period indicated on the traffic signs placed on or near the Cab Rank.
3. Persons having a query concerning the proposals should contact Greenwich Transportation & Highways on 020 8921 5579.
4. A copy of the proposed Order, the Order being amended and the Council’s statement of reasons for proposing to make the Order together with plans showing the locations and effects of the Order can be inspected during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive, until the end of 6 weeks from the date on which the Order is made or as the case may be, the Council decides not to make the Order, at Greenwich Transportation & Highways, Strategic Planning Department, Greenwich Council, Peggy Middleton House, 50 Woolwich New Road, Woolwich SEI8 6HQ.
Copies of the proposed Order can be inspected at all local libraries.
5. Persons desiring to object to the proposed Order or make other representation should send a statement in writing of their objection and the grounds thereof or of their representation to the Council’s Agents, TMO Services, 4 Snell Gardens, Herne Bay, Kent CT6 7SU, quoting Ref LBG/2297, to arrive by 16 August 2006.
6. Persons objecting to the proposed Order should be aware that in view of the Local Government (Access to Information) Act 1985, this Council would be legally obliged to make any comments received in response to this notice, open to public inspection.
