STOPPING-UP OF A LENGTH OF HIGHWAY RUNNING BETWEEN CLARENCE STREET AND SUSSEX STREET, BURNLEY

The Secretary of State for Transport gives notice that on the application of Dickson Dees Law Firm, he has made an Order under section 247 of the above Act entitled “The Stopping-Up of Highways (County of Lancashire) (No 6) Order 2006”, authorising the stopping-up of a length of highway running between Clarence Street and Sussex Street, Burnley. This stopping-up Order is permanent and has been authorised to allow the development described in the planning permission granted to North British Homes by Burnley Borough Council on 29 March 2006 under Ref APP/2005/1137. Copies of the Order may be obtained, free of charge, on application to the Government Office for the North West (Planning Casework), City Tower, Piccadilly Plaza, Manchester M1 4BE (quoting Ref GO/TNW 5063/35/1/121). It may also be inspected at all reasonable hours at the offices of Parliament Street Post Office, 70 Parliament Street, Burnley. Any person aggrieved by the Order and desiring to question the validity thereof, or of any provision contained therein, on the ground that it is not within the power of the above Act or that any requirement of that Act or of any Regulation made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may, within 6 weeks of 25 July 2006, apply to the High Court for the suspension or quashing of the Order or of any provision contained therein.
