NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR CONSENT FOR THE PURPOSES OF SECTION 88

Notice is hereby given in accordance with Schedule 10 of the above Act that an application has been made to the Environment Agency by William Cutting of Sandgate Lane, Storrington, for consent to discharge up to 20,000 cubic metres per day of highly treated sewage effluent from Ford Wastewater Treatment Works, Ford, near Arundel (SU 9950 0310) to the River Rother near Fittleworth at National Grid Ref TQ 0093 1825. The purpose of the discharge is to augment river flows so as to facilitate additional downstream abstraction. The Environment Agency is committed to protecting water quality. If, after full consideration of this application and any representations made by interested parties, it is decided that consent can be granted, then conditions will be imposed to ensure that this aim of the Agency regarding water quality is met. A copy of the application may be inspected, free of charge, during normal office hours at the Agency’s offices at the address given below. Any person who wishes to make representations about the application should do so in writing to the Supra Area Water Quality Consenting Team at the Agency’s offices at Saxon House, Little High Street, Worthing, West Sussex BN11 2BP, during the period 15 July 2006 to 26 July 2006 quoting Ref P12840/S/06.
