PROPOSED STOPPING-UP OF LENGTHS OF PICKMERE CLOSE, DROYLSDEN IN THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH OF TAMESIDE

The Secretary of State for Transport hereby gives notice that, on the application of Dane Ashworth Cottram, he proposes to make an Order under section 247 of the above Act which will authorise the stopping-up of 2 lengths of Pickmere Close, Droylsden. If the Order is made, the stopping-up will be authorised only in order to enable the development described in the Schedule to this notice to be carried out in accordance with the planning permission granted to New Charter Housing Trust C/o Dane Ashworth Cottram by Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council, on 26 September 2005, under Ref 05/00974/FUL. Copies of the draft Order and relevant plan may be inspected at all reasonable hours during the 28 days commencing 21 July 2006, at the offices of Ashton Central Library, Old Street, Ashton-Under-Lyne, and may be obtained, free of charge, from the Government Office for the North West (Planning Casework) (quoting Ref GO/TNW5087/35/1/81) at the address stated below. Anyone may object to the making of the proposed Order but the objection must be received within the 28 day objection period mentioned above. Objections should be made in writing, quoting the above reference, to the Secretary of State at the Government Office for the North West (Planning Casework), City Tower, Piccadilly Plaza, Manchester M1 4BE, or by e-mailing garry.budsworth @gonw.gsi.gov.uk Please bear in mind that any objections received will be passed to the applicant and other people affected by it, and those persons may contact the objector regarding the issues raised. The substance of the objection should relate to the loss of public right of way and not the merits of development taking place.
