The Secretary of State for Transport hereby gives notice that he proposes to make an Order under section 247 of the above Act, which will authorise the stopping-up of highway at Foundry Street, Banbury, Oxfordshire OX16 2LU. If the Order is made, the stopping-up will be authorised only in order to enable the development described in the Schedule to this notice to be carried out in accordance with planning permission granted to Central Building Contractors, c/o John Ashton by Cherwell District Council on 28 February 2005, under Ref 03/02616/F. Copies of the draft Order and relevant plan may be inspected at all reasonable hours during the 28 days commencing on 20 July 2006, at Banbury Library, Marlborough Road, Banbury, Oxfordshire OX16 5DB, and may be obtained, free of charge, from the Senior Executive Officer (Transport), Government Office for the South East, (quoting Ref GOSE/029/001/OXON/098) at the address below. During the above-mentioned period of 28 days anyone may object to the making of the Order by writing to the Secretary of State, quoting Ref GOSE/029/001/OXON/098 and addressing their objection to the Senior Executive Officer (Transport), Government Office for the South East, Third Floor, Bridge House, 1 Walnut Tree Close, Guildford GU1 4GA. Please bear in mind that any objections received will be passed to the applicant and other people affected by it. The applicant or their representative may contact the objector directly to try to resolve the objection. The substance of the objection should relate to the loss of public right of way and not the merits of development taking place.
