HIGHWAYS ACT 1980, SECTION 116 AND TWELFTH SCHEDULE

Notice is hereby given that the Rochdale Borough Council, in exercise of the powers conferred on them, intend to apply to the Rochdale, Middleton & Heywood Magistrates’ Court at The Court House, Town Meadows, Rochdale OL16 1BR, on 16 August 2006, at 9.45 am, for an Order under section 116 of the Highways Act 1980 authorising the closure of:

(i) Alleyway of varying widths running from a point at the rear of the footway adjacent to 11 Isabella Street running in generally north-westerly direction for a distance of 14 metres to the most southerly point of the rear boundary of 12 Leyton Street, Rochdale;
(ii) Alleyway of varying widths running from the most southerly point of the rear boundary of 12 Leyton Street in a generally north-easterly direction for a distance of 53 metres between the rear of the properties 12 to 32 Leyton Street and 11 to 33 Isabella Street, Rochdale;
(iii) 2 metre wide alleyway running along the easterly boundary of 33 Isabella Street in a generally north-westerly direction for a distance of 21 metres to the most southerly point of the rear boundary of 34 Leyton Street;
(iv) Alley of varying widths running from the most southerly point of the rear boundary of 34 Leyton Street in a generally north-easterly direction for a distance of 10 metres to the mid point of the rear boundary of 36 Leyton Street, Rochdale;
(v) 2 metre wide alleyway running from the most southerly point of the rear boundary of 27 Isabella Street in a generally north-westerly direction for a distance of 15 metres to end at the rear of the footway adjacent to 26 Leyton Street, Rochdale.
The effect of the said Order is shown on the plan, which may be inspected, free of charge, at the Borough Solicitor’s Office, The Rochdale Borough Council, Town Hall, Rochdale and the Customer Services Centre, Floor 2, Municipal Offices, Smith Street, Rochdale during normal office hours.
