PROPOSED “AT ANY TIME” WAITING RESTRICTIONS—
VARIOUS LOCATIONS, CROYDON AND FREE PARKING BAYS AND WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN COWLEY CLOSE, SELSDON

1. Notice is hereby given that Croydon Council propose to make Traffic Orders under the relevant sections of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and the Local Government Act 1985.
2. The general effect of the Orders would be to introduce:

(a) waiting restrictions “at any time” throughout the week in the lengths of streets specified in the Schedule to this notice;
(b) waiting restrictions between 9.00 am and 5.00 pm on Mondays to Saturdays inclusive in conjunction with free parking bays in Cowley Close, Selsdon.

3. Copies of the proposed Orders and all related documents can be inspected until the last day of a period of 6 weeks beginning with the date on which the Orders are made or, as the case may be, the Council decides not to make the Orders, during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive at the Enquiry Counter, “One Stop” Facility, Taberner House, Park Lane, Croydon, Surrey.
4. Further information may be obtained by telephoning the Environmental, Cultural and Sports Services Department, Croydon Council on 020 8407 6915.
5. Persons desiring to object to the proposed Orders should send a statement in writing of their objection and the grounds thereof to the Order Making Section, Parking Services, Environmental, Cultural and Sports Services, 1st Floor, Davis House, Robert Street, Croydon CR0 1QQ quoting Ref ECSS/PS/JAA/7/J15 by 9 August 2006.
6. The proposed Orders are intended to introduce “At any time” waiting restrictions at various locations. This is to improve visibility for motorists emerging from junctions and to allow pedestrians crossing minor roads to see and be seen and reduce obstructive parking so that turning vehicles have sufficient manoeuvrability. It is also proposed to introduce free parking bays and waiting restrictions between 9.00 am and 5.00 pm on Mondays to Saturdays inclusive in Cowley Close. This is as a result of a very positive result from this road to a consultation carried out in the area for controlled parking.
