ENVIRONMENT AGENCY
ANNOUNCEMENT OF PUBLICATION OF DRAFT PLAN (PREPARED FOLLOWING THE PRINCIPLES OF THE ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT OF PLANS AND PROGRAMMES REGULATIONS 2004¹)
(SI 2004/1633 REGULATION 13.2)
THE BROADLAND RIVERS CATCHMENT FLOOD MANAGEMENT PLAN

The Environment Agency gives notice that we have prepared a Catchment Flood Management Plan (CFMP), which includes an Environmental Report. This is available for consultation until 29 September 2006. The Broadland Rivers CFMP aims to identify the main factors influencing flood flows and flood risk, and to assess how they may change over time. The Draft CFMP outlines sustainable flood risk management policies that will provide a balance between cost effectiveness, social needs and demands on land use over the next 50-100 years. It covers the catchments of the rivers Waveney, Yare, Wensum, Bure, Ant and Thurne, including the tidal rivers within the Broads. We invite the public to comment on the Draft CFMP. Members of the public may look at the Draft CFMP at the following main libraries: Norwich, Great Yarmouth, Lowestoft and Diss. It is also available to look at on our website at www.environment-agency.gov.uk. Copies of the Draft CFMP can be obtained on CD from the Project Manager (contact details below). Summary documents have been sent to all libraries in the Broadland Rivers CFMP area. Copies of the summary document are also available by contacting the Project Manager at the address below. Comments on the Broadland Rivers Draft CFMP must be sent to the Project Manager: Sue Brown (Broadland Rivers CFMP), Environment Agency, Iceni House, Cobham Road, Ipswich, Suffolk IP3 9JD. We must receive all comments on the Broadland Rivers Draft CFMP by Friday 29 September 2006. ¹ The CFMP does not fall within the requirements of the Environmental Assessment of Plans and Programmes Regulations 2004 (SI 1633/2004), but we have prepared it within the spirit of these Regulations.
