THE BRENT (WAITING AND LOADING RESTRICTION) (AMENDMENT NO  ) ORDER 200

1. Notice is given that the Council of the London Borough of Brent propose to make the above-mentioned Order under sections 6 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by section 8 of and Part 1 of Schedule 5 to the Local Government Act 1985. 2. The general effect of the Order would be further to amend the Brent (Waiting and Loading Restriction) Order 1979, so that: (a) waiting by vehicles (otherwise than for the purpose of delivering or collecting goods or loading or unloading a vehicle) would be prohibited at any time in the lengths of streets specified in the Schedule to this notice; (b) waiting by vehicles for the purpose of delivering or collecting goods or loading or unloading a vehicle for a period of more than 20 minutes in the same place would be prohibited between 11.00 am and 6.30 pm throughout the week in the lengths of streets specified in the Schedule to this notice; (c) the sale or offer for sale of goods from a vehicle would be prohibited (except on Sundays in the lengths of streets specified in the Schedule) unless there is in force a valid licence issued by the Brent Borough Council or the goods are immediately taken into or delivered at premises adjacent to the vehicle from which the sale is effected; (d) the use of any vehicle or of any animal or the wearing of fancy dress or other costume, wholly or mainly for the purpose of advertising would be prohibited; (e) any existing prohibition on the waiting by vehicles, the sale or offer for sale of goods from a vehicle or the use of any vehicle or animal or the wearing of fancy dress or other costume wholly or mainly for the purpose of advertising in the lengths of streets specified in the Schedules to this notice would be revoked. 3. The prohibitions referred to in sub-paragraph 2(a) and 2(b) above would not apply, in respect of anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or in certain circumstances, eg, the picking up or setting down of passengers; the carrying out of statutory powers or duties; the taking in of petrol, etc, from roadside petrol stations; to licensed street traders, etc. The usual exemption relating to vehicles displaying a disabled person’s “Blue/Orange Badge” would apply. 4. A copy of the proposed Order, of maps of the relevant areas, of the Brent (Waiting and Loading Restriction) Order 1979 (and of the Orders which have amended that Order) and of the Council’s statement of reasons for proposing to make the Order can be inspected during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive until the expiration of a period of 21 days from the date on which this notice is published at: (a) The One Stop Shop, Brent Town Hall, Forty Lane, Wembley, Middlesex HA9 9HX; and (b) The One Stop Shop, Brent House, 349-357 High Road, Wembley, Middlesex HA9 6BZ. 5. Further information may be obtained by telephoning the Transportation Service Unit, telephone 020 8937 5145. 6. Persons desiring to make representations or to object to the proposed Order should send a statement in writing of their representations or objections, and the grounds thereof, to The Director of Transportation, Transportation Service Unit, 2nd Floor (east) Brent House, 349-357 High Road, Wembley, Middlesex, HA9 6BZ, quoting Ref TO/02/105/BFM, before the afore-mentioned date. Schedule Waiting restrictions (At any time) Birchwood Court, from Limesdale Gardens, south-westward, for a distance of 10 metres. Bush Grove, the south-east side, from 10 metres north-east of Hawthorne Grove to 10 metres south-west of Hawthorne Grove. Elms Lane: (a) the north-east and south-east sides: (i) from 13 metres south-west of Willow Way to 10 metres north-west of Willow Way; (ii) from Sudbury Court Road, south-westward, for a distance of 12 metres; (b) the north-west and south-west sides: (i) from 10 metres south-east of Rowan Close to 18.3 metres north-west of Rowan Close; (ii) from Sudbury Court Road to 10 metres south-east of St. George’s Close. Hawthorne Grove, from Bush Grove, south-eastward, for 10 metres. Highfield Avenue, Kingsbury, the south-east side, from 10 metres south-west of Highfield Close to 10 metres north-east of Highfield Close. Highfield Close, from Highfield Avenue, south-eastward, for 10 metres. Limesdale Gardens, the south-west side: (a) from 10 metres south-east of Birchwood Court to 11 metres north-west of Birchwood Court; (b) from 10 metres south-east of Oakleigh Court to 11.5 metres north-west of Oakleigh Court. Mac Arthur Close Monks Park, the north-west side, from 5 metres north-east of Nos 25 and 27 Monks Park to the south-western wall of No 39 Monks Park.
