NOTICE OF APPLICATION
STOPPING-UP OF HIGHWAY ADJACENT TO AXE STREET AND ST PAUL’S ROAD, BARKING, LONDON STOPPING-UP ORDER NUMBER 1

Take notice that the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham (“the Council”), which is the Local Highway Authority for the purposes of the Highways Act 1980 (“the Act”) for the area in which highway adjacent to Axe Street and St Paul’s Road, Barking Order number 1 is situated, intends to apply to the Magistrates Court sitting at Barking and Dagenham Court House, East Street, Barking IG11 8EW, on Friday 11 August 2006, at 10.00 am for an Order under section 116 of the Act (“the Order”), authorising the Council to stop up the highway adjacent to Axe Street and St Paul’s Road as shown hatched on the plan to which the Order relates (“the Plan”) and described in the Schedule below on the grounds that the said parts of the highway are unnecessary. At the hearing of the application for the Order, any person who would be aggrieved by the making of the Order applied for will have the right to be heard. A copy of the Plan showing the areas of the highway to be stopped up can be inspected, free of charge, at the offices of the Council at Town Hall, Broadway, Barking between 9.30 am and 4.30 pm on Mondays to Fridays inclusive.
