THE STOPPING-UP OF HIGHWAYS (LAND AT GARTH ROAD AND PANTON STREET, BANGOR, GWYNEDD) ORDER 200  

Notice is hereby given that the Minister for Enterprise, Innovation and Networks, acting on behalf of the National Assembly for Wales, proposes to make an Order under section 247 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 to authorise the stopping-up of the areas of highway described in Schedule 1 to this notice.
If the Order is made, the stopping-up will be authorised only in order to enable the development described in Schedule 2 to this notice to be carried out in accordance with planning permission granted by Gwynedd Council on 13 January 2006 under Ref C05A/0603/11/LL. The Order will cease to have effect upon the cessation of the planning permission.
During 28 days from 11 July 2006 copies of the draft Order and the deposited plan may be inspected during normal office hours at the Town Hall, Bangor or may be obtained, free of charge, from the address below quoting the Welsh Assembly Government Ref CZ510-5-44-9.
Within the above-mentioned period of 28 days, any person may, by notice to the Welsh Assembly Government, Transport Wales, TPA3, Cathays Park, Cardiff CF10 3NQ (quoting Ref CZ510-5-44-9), object to the making of the Order. In the preparation of an objection, it should be borne in mind that the substance of any objection or representation may be communicated to other people who may be affected by it.

Schedule 1
Description of the area of highway to be stopped up under the Order

An irregularly shaped area (identified as ‘Area A’ on the deposited plan), measuring approximately 37.5 square metres, which extends along the eastern boundary of Garth Road in a northerly direction from a point 10.5 metres north of the junction of Garth Road and High Street for a length of 30 metres.
A roughly rectangular shaped area (identified as ‘Area B’ on the deposited plan), measuring 36 square metres, situated at the most westerly end of Panton Street

Description of the proposed development

Demolition and redevelopment of the existing Wellfield Shopping Centre.
