THE A1 TRUNK ROAD (A1 AND A614 JUNCTION IMPROVEMENT APLEYHEAD) (DETRUNKING) ORDER 2006

The Secretary of State for Transport hereby gives notice that he has made the following Orders: 1. An Order under sections 10 and 41 of the Highways Act 1980, entitled The A1 Trunk Road (A57 and A614 Junction Improvement Apleyhead) Order 2006, which: (a) provides that roads which he proposes to construct along the following routes shall become trunk roads from the date when the Order comes into force; (b) a route (“the main route”) about 1.19 kilometres in length from a point on the eastern boundary of the A1 Worksop Road approximately 49 metres north-east of the north-western corner of the Apley Head Wood (also known as Chestnut Lodge) property at Babworth, near Retford, in the county of Nottinghamshire to a point approximately 320  metres south of the centreline of Checker House Railway Bridge; and (c) three routes from slip roads and a roundabout to connect the main route with other highways at Apleyhead in Babworth, near to Retford. 2. An Order under sections 10 and 12 of the Highways Act 1980, entitled The A1 Trunk Road (A57 and A614 Junction Improvement Apleyhead) (Detrunking) Order 2006, which provides that a length of the A1 Trunk Road to be superseded by the new trunk road on the main route shall cease to be a trunk road, and shall be classified as a classified road, from the date on which the Secretary of State notifies the Nottinghamshire County Council (who will become the highway authority responsible for that length) that the new trunk road on the main route is open for traffic. Copies of each Order and the plans referred to in it have been deposited at the offices of the Highways Agency, Broadway, Broad Street, Birmingham B15 1BL; of Bassetlaw District Council, Queens Building, Potter Street, Worksop, Nottinghamshire S80 2AH; and of Nottingham County Council, County Hall, West Bridgford, Nottingham NG2 7QP; and at Retford Library, Churchgate, Retford, Nottinghamshire DN22 6PB; and Worksop Library, Memorial Avenue, Worksop, Nottinghamshire S80 2BP; and at Worksop Mobile Library; where they are open to inspection, free of charge, at all reasonable hours. Copies of each Order can be purchased through booksellers or direct from government bookshops (The Stationery Office). The A1 Trunk Road (A57 and A614 Junction Improvement Apleyhead) Order 2006, is numbered SI 2006/1697, and is priced £3, and The A1 Trunk Road (A57 and A614 Junction Improvement Apleyhead) (Detrunking) Order 2006, is numbered SI 2006/1698, and is also priced £3. Any person aggrieved by an Order mentioned in this notice who desires to question its validity, or the validity of any provision in it, on the ground that: (a) it is not within the powers of the Highways Act 1980, or (b) any requirement of that Act or of regulations made under that Act has not been complied with in relation to that Order, may apply to the High Court within 6 weeks from the date of first publication of this notice.
