INTRODUCTION OF PEDESTRIAN ZONE IN HILDRETH STREET, LONDON SW12

1. Notice is hereby given that the Council of the London Borough of Wandsworth proposes to make the following Orders under section 6 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by the Local Government Act 1985 and the Road Traffic Act 1991:

(a) The Wandsworth (Prescribed Route) (No  ) Traffic Order 200
(b) The Wandsworth (Waiting and Loading Restriction) (Special Parking Areas) (Amendment No  ) Order 200

2. The general effect of the Orders would be to introduce controls on motor vehicles consistent with a pedestrian zone in the length of Hildreth Street which extends 25 metres from its junction with Balham High Road. The Prescribed Route Order would prohibit all motor vehicles from entering that length of Hildreth Street on Mondays to Saturdays except for loading or unloading between 8.00 am and 10.00 am or 5.00 pm and 6.00 pm only. The Waiting and Loading Order would introduce waiting restrictions operating at any time and loading restrictions operating from 12 midnight to 8.00 am, 10.00 am to 5.00 pm and 6.00 pm to 12.00 midnight on Mondays to Saturdays within the pedestrian zone.
3. Copies of documents giving more detailed particulars of the proposed Orders, including a plan showing the location of the restrictions, are available for inspection during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays at the Information Point in The Concourse, The Town Hall, Wandsworth High Street, London, SW18 2PU. The documents will remain available until the end of 6 weeks from the date on which the Orders are made or, as the case may be, the Council decides not to make the Orders.

5. Any person wishing to object to the proposed Orders should send a statement in writing of their objection and the grounds on which it is made to the Director of Technical Services (quoting Ref ES/PK/TMO810) by 28 July 2006.
