TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1990

The City of London Corporation hereby gives notice that it proposes to make an Order under section 247 of the above Act to authorise the stopping-up of highway in Cheapside, Bread Street, Watling Street and New Change EC4.
If the Order is made, the stopping-up will be authorised only in order to enable development described in the Schedule to this notice to be carried out in accordance with the planning permission granted by the City of London Corporation on 7 June 2006 under Ref 05/00431/FULL/EIA.
Copies of the draft Order and relevant plan may be inspected between the hours of 9.15 am and 5.00 pm Monday to Friday during the 28 days commencing on 4 July 2006 at the offices of the Town Clerk, City of London Corporation, Guildhall, Aldermanbury, London EC2 or may be obtained, free of charge, by post from the Corporation (quoting Ref PC 529) at the address stated below.
Any person may object to the making of the proposed Order within the above period in writing to The City Planning Officer, City of London, PO Box 270, Guildhall, London EC2P 2EJ, quoting the above reference. In preparing an objection it should be borne in mind that the substance of it may be imparted to other persons who may be affected by it and that those persons may wish to communicate with the objector about it.

Redevelopment of the site including demolition of all existing buildings and structures and its replacement with a new building comprising basement, lower ground floor and 7 storeys to include retail (A1-A5 inclusive) uses, offices (B1) and ancillary uses, the provision of new pedestrian routes, hard and soft landscaping, publicly accessible terraces, ancillary public toilets and alterations to pedestrian and vehicular access with a total gross external area of 93,195 square metres.
