IMPORTANT NOTICE—NOTICES OF APPLICATIONS FOR LICENCES TO ABSTRACT OR IMPOUND WATER—ENVIRONMENT AGENCY (ALL REGIONS)

As a result of changes in legislation, all future notices of applications for licences to abstract or impound water required under section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 (as amended) will now be published on the Environment Agency’s web site at www.environment-agency.gov.uk (See—Subjects>Water Resources>Abstraction Licensing>Abstraction Licence Applications>Notices). Details of notices published on the Enironment Agency’s web site can be viewed free of charge for 28 days following the date of publication. Summary details of any application can also be found on the Public Register held by the Environment Agency at its local Area offices and may be inspected free of charge during normal office hours. Notice of any applications for drought orders or drought permits will continue to be published in The London Gazette.
