THE WAVENEY, LOWER YARE AND LOTHINGLAND INTERNAL DRAINAGE BOARD ORDER 2006

Notice is hereby given that the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs in exercise of the powers conferred upon her by section 3(5) and (7) of the Land Drainage Act 1991, proposes to make an Order confirming a Scheme submitted by the Environment Agency under section 3(1) of the Act. The Scheme makes provision for: (i) The abolition of the Blundeston Flixton and Oulton, the Burgh Castle Bradwell Gorleston Southtown and Cobholm Island, the Langley Chedgrave and Toft Monks, and the Oulton Carlton Colville and Barnby Drainage Boards, the Limpenhoe and Reedham, the Lothingland, the Lower Waveney, the Lower Waveney Second, the Lower Waveney Third, the Lower Yare Second, the Lower Yare Third, and the Waveney Valley Internal Drainage Boards; (ii) The amalgamation of the drainage districts under the jurisdiction of the above-mentioned drainage boards into one new internal drainage district; (iii) The constitution of a new internal drainage board for the internal drainage district formed by such amalgamation; (iv) Matters supplemental thereto or consequential thereon. A copy of the Order, together with a copy of the Scheme has been deposited at the offices of the Drainage Boards, Nicholsons, 23 Alexandra Road, Lowestoft, Suffolk NR32 1PP, and the Environment Agency, Anglian Region, Kingfisher House, Goldhay Way, Orton Goldhay, Peterborough PE2 5ZR, and at the offices of the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, Area 3B, Ergon House, Horseferry Road, London SW1P 2AL, for public inspection during normal office working hours for a period of 30 days after the date of publication of this notice. Copies of the draft Order may be obtained from the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs. Any objection to the draft Order should be made in writing and sent to the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, at the above address, within the period mentioned above, quoting Ref LDC 2442.
