LEEDS CITY COUNCIL (LEEDS INNER RING ROAD (STAGE 7)) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS AND PROHIBITION OF USE) ORDER 2006

Notice is hereby given that because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the under-mentioned highway, (construction of the Leeds Inner Ring Road Stage 7), Leeds City Council intends in not less than 21 days from the date of this notice, to make an Order the effect of which will be: 1. No person shall cause or permit any vehicle to proceed in: (a) Moor Road (northbound only) from its junction with the Tunstall Road Roundabout to its junction with the Hunslet Distributor Road; (b) the central reservation gap of the Hunslet Distributor Road at its junction with Moor Road; (c) the central reservation gap of the Hunslet Distributor Road at its junction with Jack Lane; (d) Atkinson Street (northbound) from its junction with South Accommodation Road for a distance of 200 metres in a southerly direction. Access will be maintained at all times. 2. No person shall cause or permit any vehicle: (a) proceeding in Moor Road (northbound) to turn right into the Hunslet Distributor Road (eastbound); (b) proceeding in the nearside lane of the Hunslet Distributor Road (eastbound) to turn right into Hunslet Green Way or to make a “U” turn into the Hunslet Distributor Road (westbound); (c) proceeding in the Hunslet Distributor Road (westbound) to make a “U” turn into the Hunslet Distributor Road (eastbound) at its junction with Hunslet Green Way; (d) proceeding in the Hunslet Distributor Road (westbound) to turn right into Jack Lane (northbound); (e) proceeding in Jack Lane (southbound) to turn right into the Hunslet Distributor Road (westbound); (f) proceeding in South Accommodation Road (eastbound) to turn right into Atkinson Street (southbound); (g) proceeding in South Accommodation Road (westbound) to make a “U” turn into South Accommodation Road (eastbound) between the Richmond Bridge and the Atkinson Street/Clarence Road junction; (h) proceeding in South Accommodation Road (westbound) to turn right into Clarence Road (northbound); (i) proceeding in the nearside lane of South Accommodation Road (westbound) from the junction of Bridgewater Road to go straight on at the Atkinson Street Junction; (j) proceeding in the offside lane of South Accommodation Road (westbound) from the junction of Bridgewater Road to turn left into Atkinson Street; (k) proceeding in Clarence Road (southbound) to turn right into South Accommodation Road (westbound) or into Atkinson Street (southbound) (normally accommodated via the “U” turn facility); (l) proceeding in Atkinson Street (northbound) to turn left or right into South Accommodation Road or to go straight across South Accommodation Road into Clarence Road (northbound). 3. No person shall cause or permit any vehicle to wait at any time on: (a) Atkinson Street (full length), National Road (full length) and Old Mill Lane (full length); (b) New Craven Gate from its southern turning head for a distance of 50 metres in a north-westerly direction. 4. No pedestrian or cyclist shall proceed on: (a) the footpath from the northern side of the turning head of New Craven Gate in a southerly direction for a distance of 110 metres approximately to the Hunslet Distributor Road; (b) the footway from Moor Road (West) along the M621 Motorway (Junction 4) Overbridge to the Hunslet Distributor Road; (c) the northern and southern footways of the Hunslet Distributor Road from Moor Road for a distance of 200 metres approximately in an easterly direction to Hunslet Green Way; (d) the footpath on the east side of Moor Road from the Hunslet Distributor Road for a distance of 580 metres approximately in a southerly direction to the Tunstall Road Roundabout. Diversionary routes for vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists affected by the closures/restrictions will be available and will be signposted on site. The Order will come into operation on Monday 22 May 2006 and will remain in force for as long as is necessary to enable the construction works to be completed.
