THE SUTTON (WAITING AND LOADING RESTRICTION)
(NO 7) (AMENDMENT NO 14) ORDER 2006
WAITING RESTRICTIONS AT VARIOUS JUNCTIONS IN BEDDINGTON AND WALLINGTON
1. Notice is hereby given that the Council of the London Borough of Sutton made the
above-mentioned Order on 24 April 2006 under sections 6 and 124 of, and Part IV of
Schedule 9 to, the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Local Government
Act 1985 and the Road Traffic Act 1991.
2. The principal objective of the Order is to improve the visibility and safety for
vehicles/pedestrians using the junctions.
3. The general effect of the Order will be to introduce waiting restrictions “no
waiting at any time” at the following junctions:
(a) Apeldoorn Drive at its junction with Rheingold Way, Wallington;
(b) Beddington Gardens at its junction with the access road to Runnymede Court, Wallington;
(c) Beddington Lane at its junctions with Bath House Road and the access road to
the sewage treatment works, Beddington;
(d) Bute Gardens West at its junction with Bute Gardens, Wallington;
(e) Demesne Road at its junctions with Ross Road and Tharp Road, Wallington;
(f) London Road at its junction with Wandle Road, Hackbridge;
(g) Maldon Road at its junction with Harcourt Road, Wallington;
(h) Northway at its junction with Clifford Avenue, Wallington;
(i) Plough Lane at its junction with Plough Lane Close, Wallington; and
(j) Sandy Lane North at its junction with Clouston Close, Wallington.
4. The proposal advertised on 14 December 2005 (Order Ref WL525) to introduce waiting
restrictions “no waiting at any time” at Bandon Rise, Wallington, at the junction
of its two arms, is subject to further consideration by the Council.
5. A copy of the Order, which will come into operation on 2 May 2006, the Council’s
statement of reasons for making the Order and plans showing the locations and effects
of the Order may be examined at:
Civic Offices, St Nicholas Way, Sutton, between 9.00 am and 5.00 pm, Monday to Friday.
Environment and Leisure, 24 Denmark Road, Carshalton, between 9.00 am and 1.00 pm,
Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and 1.00 pm to 4.00 pm, Tuesday and Thursday.
6. If any person wishes to question the validity of this Order or any of its provisions
on the grounds that it or they are not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic
Regulation Act 1984, or that any requirement of that Act or of any instrument made
under that Act has not been complied with, that person may, within 6 weeks from the
date on which the Order is made, apply for the purpose to the High Court.
