NEW ROADS AND STREET WORKS ACT 1991, SECTION 58

NOTICE OF SUBSTANTIAL ROAD WORKS

Southampton City Council under the above section gives the following details:

1. Three months advance notice is hereby given that Southampton City Council intends to carry out substantial road works.
2. The street/roads in which these works will take place are Millbrook Road West and Regents Park Road.
3. Work is expected to affect the carriageway of Millbrook Road West—from a point 55 metres west of Mountbatten Way to a point 15 metres east of the extended kerbline of King George’s Avenue; and Regents Park Road—from its junction with Millbrook Road West to its junction with Fawley Road.
4. Work is expected to commence on 24 July 2006 (or should commence within one month of this date).
5. The works notified consist of carriageway re-surfacing.
6. Subject to the exemptions in the Act and Regulations under it, no street works may be executed for a period of 12 months from completion of the works described in paragraph 5, without the consent of the said Highway Authority, which shall not be unreasonably withheld.
