NOTICE OF INTENTION TO STOP UP HIGHWAY

Notice is hereby given that the Council of the City and County of Swansea (hereinafter called “the Council”) being the highway authority in respect of the road hereinafter mentioned and, as such, the appropriate authority within the meaning of section 116 of the Highways Act 1980, hereby gives notice that on Thursday 25 May 2006, at 10.00 am, the said Council intends, pursuant to the said section, to make an application to the Magistrates’ Court sitting at Grove Place, Swansea, for an Order to authorise the stopping-up of 525 square metres or thereabouts of highway comprising an irregularly shaped area of pavement verge and access road lying on the south-east side of Nantyffin Road, Llansamlet and north-east of its junction with Fendrod Way in the said city and county of Swansea on the ground that it is unnecessary as a public highway. A plan showing the highway to be closed may be inspected, free of charge, between the hours of 9.00 am and 4.30 pm on weekdays (excluding Saturdays) from the Legal Services Department, County Hall, Oystermouth Road, Swansea (on application to main reception). On the hearing of the said application, any person to whom notice is given, any person who uses the said highway and any other person who would be aggrieved by the making of the Order of which application is being made shall have the right to be heard.
