NOTICE OF INTENTION TO ADOPT AND OF PROPOSED MODIFICATIONS TO A LOCAL PLAN
EAST STAFFORDSHIRE LOCAL PLAN

The Public Local Inquiry into this plan has been held and the report of the Inspector holding the Inquiry has been considered by East Staffordshire Borough Council. East Staffordshire Borough Council propose to make further modifications to this plan. A list of the proposed modifications, with the Authority’s reasons for proposing them, are available for inspection at the offices of East Staffordshire Borough Council and other locations listed below from Friday 14 April 2006 until Friday 26 May 2006 at the following places and times: The Town Hall, King Edward Place, Burton upon Trent, Staffordshire, between 8.45 am and 5.00 pm Monday to Friday. Midland Grain Warehouse Reception, Derby St, Burton upon Trent, Staffordshire, between 8.45 am and 5.00 pm Monday to Friday. Burton Library, Riverside, Burton upon Trent, Staffordshire, between 8.30 am and 6.00 pm on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, between 10.00 am and 6.00 pm on Tuesday, between 8.30 am and 8.00 pm on Thursday and between 8.30 am and 4.30 pm on Saturday. Uttoxeter Library, High Street, Uttoxeter, between 9.00 am to 5.00 pm Monday to Thursday, between 9.00 am and 7.00 pm on Friday and between 9.00 am and 4.00 pm on Saturday. Barton under Needwood Library, Dunstall Road, Barton under Needwood, between 10.00 am and 5.00 pm on Monday and Wednesday, between 10.00 am and 8.00 pm on Thursday, between 10.00 am and 2.00 pm on Friday and between 10.00 am and 1.00 pm on Saturday. The list of the proposed modifications is now contained in two documents, the first entitled “East Staffordshire Local Plan—Proposed Modifications”, and the second entitled “East Staffordshire Local Plan—Supplement to Proposed Modifications”. Also available for inspection are: The Revised Deposit Local Plan The Pre-Inquiry and Inquiry Changes The Local Plan Inquiry Inspector’s Report Objections to, and representations in respect of, the proposed modifications should be sent in writing to Philip Somerfield, Planning Policy Manager, Development, Regeneration and Regulation, East Staffordshire Borough Council, Midland Grain Warehouse, Derby Street, Burton upon Trent, Staffordshire DE14 2JJ, before 5.00 pm Friday 26 May 2006. Objections and representations should specify the matters to which they relate and the grounds on which they are made. They may be accompanied by a request to be notified at a specified address of the withdrawal, adoption, approval or rejection of the plan. Notice of Intention to Adopt Proposals If no objections are received during the period given for making objections, East Staffordshire Borough Council intend to adopt the Plan on expiry of that period. Advisory Note The list of proposed modifications as contained in the original “Proposed Modifications” document has already been available for public inspection at the above places and times since Wednesday 29 March 2006, and expresses a requirement for objections and representations to be made by Tuesday 9 May 2006. The “Supplement to Proposed Modifications” contains eight changes which either replace, withdraw or add to the modifications in the original list, and the two documents must be read together as comprising the entire list of modifications now proposed. They will be available on deposit for public inspection, together until Friday 26 May 2006. As a result, the closing date and time for representations and objections about modifications proposed in either the “Proposed Modifications” document or the “Supplement to Proposed Modifications”, is now the same, namely 5.00 pm on Friday 26 May 2006.
