NEW ROADS AND STREET WORK ACT 1991

SECTION 58, NOTICE OF SUBSTANTIAL WORK

1. Three months advance notice is hereby given that London Borough of Tower Hamlets intends to carry out substantial road works. 2. The streets in which these works will take place are the junction of Westferry Road and Marsh Wall (known locally as Heron Quay roundabout), Westferry Road and Marsh Wall. The area of works are: (a) the length of Westferry Road between Westferry Road roundabout (lower level) and Heron Quay roundabout; (b) Westferry Road, from Heron Quay roundabout southwards for a distance of 100 metres; (c) Marsh Wall, from Heron Quay roundabout southwards for a distance of 100 metres; (d) the whole area of Heron Quay roundabout. 3. The work will effect the existing carriageway and the footway over the whole width of the above area of the public highway. 4. Work is expected to commence on 17 July 2006. 5. The works notified will include the reconstruction of footway and carriageway within the above described area, realignment of the kerbs, remodelling the existing Pelican crossing in Marsh Wall and installation of a new signal controlled pedestrian/cycle crossing on Westferry Road (southern arm). 6. Subject to the exemption in the Act and Regulations under it, no street works may be executed for a period of 12 months from completion of the works described in paragraph 2 without the consent of the said Highway Authority, which shall not be unreasonably withheld.
