THE BARNET (WAITING AND LOADING RESTRICTION) (SPECIAL PARKING AREA) (AMENDMENT NO 119) TRAFFIC ORDER 2006
THE BARNET (PRESCRIBED ROUTE) (NO 2) TRAFFIC ORDER 2006

Notice is hereby given that the Council of the London Borough of Barnet have made on 13 April 2006 the above-mentioned Orders under section 6 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers. The general effect of the Waiting and Loading Order will be to introduce new waiting and loading restrictions as follows: (a) As part of a Local Safety scheme at the High Road/Oakleigh Road North/Totteridge Lane junction in Whetstone, London N20, where a new pedestrian island will be constructed in Oakleigh Road North, the Order will extend by 6 metres the existing at any time waiting restrictions, and the existing Monday to Friday 7.00 am to 10.00 am and 4.00 pm to 7.00 pm loading restrictions on Oakleigh Road North between High Road and No 1 Oakleigh Road North in order to prohibit waiting or loading by vehicles in the vicinity of the new pedestrian island in order to ensure traffic flow and safety. (b) As part of a Local Safety Scheme where a mini roundabout will be introduced at the junction of Meadway and Hampstead Way, the existing Monday to Friday 11.00 am to 12.00 noon waiting restrictions around the junction of Meadway and Hampstead Way will be amended to at any time waiting restrictions, which will prohibit the waiting of vehicles at all times, in order to improve traffic flow on the approach to the roundabout. (c) As part of a Safer Routes to School scheme, At any time waiting restrictions will be introduced on Sheaveshill Avenue in the vicinity of its junctions with New Way Road and Colin Park Road. At any time loading restrictions will also be introduced at the junctions of Sheaveshill Avenue and New Way Road, and Sheaveshill Avenue and Colin Park Road, in order to improve road safety at these locations. The Prescribed Route Order will introduce a north to south one way traffic system in the service road fronting Nos 1260 to 1268 High Road, Whetstone, London N20, as part of the Local Safety scheme referred to in (a) above, and will prohibit vehicles from entering the service road from Oakleigh Road North. These measures will facilitate the free flow of traffic on a narrow road considered not wide enough to safely cater for two-way traffic. A copy of the Orders, which will come into operation on Tuesday 18 April 2006, a plan of the relevant area and the Council’s Statement of Reasons for making the Orders can be inspected between 9.00 am and 5.00 pm on Mondays to Fridays (Bank Holidays excepted) for a period of 6 weeks from the date on which this notice is published at: (a) Parking Design Team, Building 4, North London Business Park, Oakleigh Road South, London N11 1NP; and (b) The Information Centre, The Town Hall, The Burroughs, Hendon, London NW4 4BG. Any person wishing to question the validity of the Orders or any of its provisions on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or of any regulations made thereunder have not been complied with in relation to the Orders may, within 6 weeks of the date on which the Orders were made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
